Patna,(BiharTimes): Two Class XI students of St Dominic Savio High School, Patna were arrested by the Quick Mobile Service of S K Puri police station on the charge of assaulting and passing lewd remarks on a girl student of a private engineering college on busy Bailey Road near Pant Bhawan under Sachivalaya police station in full public view at about mid-day on Saturday. |
Reports said that the 20-year-old girl, a first year student of an engineering college of Patna was waiting for an autorickshaw at Jagdeo Path when the boy, identified as Ashish and also a student of the same college, approached her and allegedly began to trouble her.
According to police sources the boy had been trying to talk to the girl for quite some time. On Saturday, when he approached her, the girl asked him to leave her alone. This angered him and he started misbehaving with her. The girl raised an alarm. Upon this passers by rushed to help her. The girl, in her complaint, narrated that some local people slapped Ashish for this misbehaviour. He was given a warning by them but the police were not informed.
The police sources said that the girl then got into an autorickshaw and moved towards Hartali Mor, around from Jagdeo Path. The boy apparently knew about her routine and was sure that she would get down at Hartali Mor. He took another auto-rickshaw and went in the same direction and called up two of his friends, Ashutosh Kumar, a resident of Boring Road, and Chandan Kumar, a resident of Anandpuri, and asked them to reach Hartali Mor immediately. By the time they reached the spot the girl had got down from her autorickshaw and was about to proceed. The trio then surrounded the girl and roughed her up and even slapped her in full public view.
It was only by chance that a Quick Mobile Service vehicle was passing through the area. The two cops inside saw what was happening. They managed to catch hold of Ashutosh and Chandan but Ashish, the main culprit, escaped.
The police said the detained youths were being questioned about their rolse and the whereabouts of Ashish, a resident of Anand Puri locality.
The shocking incident was the third of its kind to take place in Patna in the past two months. What is more amazing is that the youths dared to indulged in such an act so close to the power centre of Bihar.
