Nitish criticizes involvement of Bengal minister in AMU stir

Patna,(BiharTimes): Five days after the Rail and Sadak Roko stir (rail and road blockade) by thousands of people in Kishanganj demanding land for AMU Centre, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has opened his mouth.

On Monday he dubbed the participation of a West Bengal minister, MP and and MLAs as a dangerous trend and claimed that never in the history of the country minister of one state had taken part in any agitation in another state.
Incidentally, the cabinet minister, Chaudhary Abdul Karim, belongs to the Trinamool Congress, whose leader Mamata Banerjee has a very good equation with Nitish Kumar.
Among those who attended a huge gathering outside the collectorate to protest against the denial of land to the AMU Centre in Kishanganj included West Bengal cabinet minister Chaudhari Abdul Karim, Raiganj (Bengal) Congress MP Deepa Das Munshi, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) general secretary and MP Tariq Anwar. and West Bengal MLAs Ghulam Rabbani and Ali Ramz alias Victor.
Apart from these leaders, MLAs of Kishanganj, Araria, Baisi of Purnea and former MPs and MLAs addressed the crowd. Akhtar-ul-Iman (RJD MLA), Zakir Husain (LJP MLA), Mohammad Afaque, Dr Javed, Mohammad Touseef (all Congress MLAs) and former Bihar minister Haji Subhan, Araria Zila Parishad chief Shagufta Azim, ex-Kishanganj Zila Parishad chief Faiyaz Alam and leaders of Jamiat-ulema-e-Hind and AMU Students Union president A A Feroz were prominent among those present there.
It needs to be recalled that the chief minister reportedly called up his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee expressing his displeasure over Karim’s participation in a gathering outside collectorate.
Media reports said that after taking part in the gathering Karim went back to his constituency in neighbouring West Bengal. But then late on October 12 night he was sent back by Mamata to Kishanganj to persuade the leaders of Bihar to lift Rail and Road blockade.
Political observers expressed surprise as to why Mamata initially did not prevent Karim from attending the dharna outside collectorate when it was known much earlier that he and others are to take part in it. She chose to pull up her minister only when Nitish complained.
Media reports from West Bengal also said that Nitish responded only when the Railway Minister, Dinesh Trivedi of Trinamool Congress urged the Bihar government to get the blockade lifted as he himself was stuck in North Bengal.
It needs to be recalled that the Railways have filed cases against all the MPs, MLAs and other leaders involved in the stir, but the name of Karim did not figure in it.

The proposal of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) to open 5 study centers in the different parts of the country to bring educational awareness among the Muslims came after a strong recommendation made by Sachchar Committee. Murshidabad (WB) & Mallapuram (Kerala) centers are already operational, however opening of Bhopal (MP) & Ahmadnagar (Maharastra) centers are on process. Kishanganj center has become a center of cheap politics. It was Nitish Kumar who brought the proposal of the center from Katihar to Kishanganj. It is not rocket science to understand that he did it so to gain political mileage out of this from the largest Muslim populated district in India. BJP & ABVP's negative & insane reactions came immediately after Nitish Kumar's announcement to bring the center in Kishanganj. Since then; Nitish Kumar bowed himself on the line of BJP and had started to play with emotions of the people of the most illiterate district (Kishanganj) in India. The delay dallying politics of Nitish Kumar had cost him all 4 important assembly seats of kishanganj in the last assembly election.
The callous attitude and cheap politics played by Nitish Kumar in the recent past could not be beard by the people of Kishanganj, & so they have now started to react. The October 12’s peaceful demonstration by over one and a half lakh people and over 10 elected politicians at kishanganj was one of the imminent reactions. Everyone knows this is an educational movement, yet Nitish Kumar on pressure of BJP has been trying to make the issue as a political one. This movement is very attached to the emotions of the people of Kishanganj in particular and the entire region (including West Dinajpur, Katihar, Purnea and Araria) in general. That was why Deepa Das Munsi (congress), Abdul Karim Chaudhary (Trinamool), Ali Rameez (Forward Block), and Ghulam Rabbani (Trinamool), besides all MLAs from Kishanganj and one from Araria and Tariq Anwer from Katihar participated the October 12th’s demonstration held at Kishanganj, which became indigestible for Nitish Kumar.
It is to be noted that AMU center at Kishanganj would bring an educational revolution in the entire region which is lagging behind in educational, social and political awareness. It would benefit students belong to all communities, castes and religions just like the original university at Aligarh. For those who are not aware, I would add that at AMU over 35% students are non-Muslims and first graduate from the AMU was also a non-Muslim. Needless to say Late Sahib Singh Verma (BJP) was among the eminent non-Muslims who had studied at AMU Aligarh.
Now it is high time for Nitish Kumar to come forward and resolve the issue, rather than criticizing others.

What Mr Nitish Kumar is said is just an excuse and way of escaping from the real point. Is other states minister required visa to come Bihar?
Sharad Yadav from Hoshangabaad, Madhya Pradesh, George Fernandes from Mangalore Karnataka can come to Bihar get elected to parliament and enjoy ministry and vip life then what is wrong if few MP and MLA of our neighboring Bengal come and join to support for a good cause?

They came for a good cause of betterment for the citizen of Bihar's forgotten simanchal area and the area is near to Bengal from where student will come too if the AMU center will start.
And this was the election promise of Our CM Shri Nitish Kumar. How come all opposition in India support Anna Hazare? is this not the first time in history of India?
AMU center is his promise and he is neglecting that so it is natural that some one has to come and ask and who will be better than citizen representative like MLA & MP etc?

Is Nalanda university revival is only important compare to provide quality education to simanchal large citizen?
Bihar citizen are supporting Mr Nitish beyond cast, religion and his allies party position thus he must respect citizen hopes.
