Patna,(BiharTimes): Descendents of Rajendra Prasad had appealed to the Bihar Chief Minister to take some urgent steps to stop auction of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual wristwatch of the first President of India. His watch was stolen in 1963 from the Sadaquat Ashram museum.

Dr Tara Sinha, the first President’s great granddaughter, had requested both Nitish Kumar as well as the Indian government to stall the auction and take necessary steps to bring back the watch.
According to family members the wristwatch, with a map of the country, was presented to him on the occasion of India’s first Republic Day.
The recovered watch was to be auctioned in Switzerland and expected to fetch Rs 30-40 lakh. The family members regret that neither the State nor the Centre has made any assurance to stop the bids.
