Patna,(BiharTimes): In all 1765 cars and 9100 two-wheelers were sold across Bihar on Dhanteras day in Bihar. Vehicles, gold and silver worth Rs 150 crore was sold in Patna.
Maruti Suzuki, which faced a prolong strike recently, tops the list as 750 of its cars hit the roads. Mahindra Motors and Tata Motors sold 500 and 350 vehicles respectively.

Maruti sold 400 cars in the state capital and remaining 350 in the rest of Bihar. The average price of these cars came to around Rs 3.5 lakh. During Dhanteras last year, the company had sold around 650 cars.
The average price of 350 cars sold by Tata Motors came around Rs 4.5 lakh. Last year, the company had sold only 250 cars. Mahindra Motors’ sales on Dhanteras last year was slightly lower than the 500 sold this year.
Ford Motors sold over 80 cars which had an average price of Rs 14 lakh each. Last year, only around 50 cars were sold. Toyota Motors sold around 85 cars on Dhanteras day on Monday, with an average price tag of Rs 13 Lakh. Cars of other brands also sold in large numbers.
The sale of two-wheelers also reached a new height. About 3500 Hero Motocorp was sold in Bihar with an average cost of around Rs 45,000.
Bajaj sold over 3000 bikes on Monday. Its three dealers in Patna alone sold over 700 bikes. There are in all 23 dealers of Bajaj in Bihar. The average cost of a bike came around Rs 50,000. In 2010 Bajaj had sold only 2200 bikes.
TVS Motors also sold over 2,000 bikes on Monday. The number of bikes sold last year on Dhanteras was almost equal. Yamaha sold 600 bikes through its 19 dealers in Bihar. Last year, only around 400 bikes were sold on Dhanteras.
The state witnessed rise in sale of vehicles and two-wheelers despite the fear that it would show slight decline this year because of sharp rise in fuel prices and inflation.
