Nitish cabinet okays new training policy for promotions

Patna,(BiharTimes): The state cabinet on Tuesday evening approved a proposal to impart refresher training at regular interval to all state government employees.
According to Secretary, General Administration department Deepak Kumar under the new training policy all government employees from Class IV to Class-I would now have to undergo training varying between three and 104 weeks to claim promotions.

The cabinet had decided that Class-I and other officers selected by the state government would be required to undergo training in selected national institutes of higher training and even in foreign countries on a selected basis.
It would also be the responsibility of every department to spend at least 1.5 per cent of the amount spent on paying salary on training. A decision had also been taken to set up a state training council headed by Chief Secretary.
The training policy aims to chart out a comprehensive training programme for all categories of state government employees with an eye on their skill development, which in turn, would add to their efficiency levels.
Deepak Kumar said that one of the focal points of the training policy is that all the new appointees, irrespective of their ranks, would have to undergo induction training before joining their work.
Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development has been made the nodal agency for conducting training programmes and it would have the liberty of engaging trainers for conducting the programme.
