Ranchi, Sep 14 (IANS) Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda Wednesday said the state would emerge as an international economic corridor with the central government approving construction of a bridge over Ganga river near the Bihar border.
"The central government Tuesday agreed in principle to construct a bridge over Ganga river in Sahebganj district. After the bridge is constructed, Jharkhand will get connected to the northeast and foreign countries," Munda told reporters.

"The bridge will make land-locked Jharkhand an international economic corridor," said Munda.
"As per the understanding with the central government, Jharkhand and Bihar will acquire land in their territories and the centre will construct the bridge," he said.
Munda blamed the central government for not helping Jharkhand meet the demand for fertilizer. "This year Jharkhand received good rainfall but the farmers are not getting urea and other fertilizers."
