Patna,(BiharTimes): The sub-divisional officer Nawada, S Z Hasan, was critically injured when an angry mob pelted stones at the district collectorate in protest against the murder of a jeweller in the district headquarters on Friday.
He sustained severe head injuries and on other parts of his body and was rushed to Patna Medical College Hospital for treatment.

According to reports from Nawada a number of vehicles parked at and outside the collectorate were also damaged by the mob, which had earlier blocked Nawada chowk protesting against the murder at Ramnagar.
The superintendent of police Pankaj Kumar Raj was also gheroed. The mob demanded arrest of the killer.
Reports said that the jeweller and his younger brother were shot at by unidentified assailants while they were on way to their shop. The jeweller died on way to the hospital.
Additional police have been deployed at the district collectorate and adjoining areas.
