Rabri Devi likely to be lone MLC candidate from RJD

Patna,(BiharTimes): Neither the state RJD chief Ramchandra Purbey nor former Sonepur MLA, Ramanuj Prasad Yadav, may get the party ticket for the MLC. Instead it was former chief minister, Rabri Devi, who is likely to contest the coming Bihar legislative council poll as the RJD candidate. The party MLAs unanimously recommending her name on Saturday.

The meeting was held at party chief Lalu Prasad’s residence, where legislators said they were suffering for want of guardianship and felt that with the election of Rabri Devi, they would have a guardian to guide them.

Leader of the opposition in the state assembly Abdul Bari Siddiqui, party's state chief Ramchandra Purbey, leader of the opposition in legislative council Ghulam Ghouse and MP Ram Kripal Yadav were present on the occasion.

The RJD parliamentary board will meet here on Sunday to endorse the name of Rabri Devi for the ensuing election.

With 22 MLAs RJD can win only one seat in the Council election.

Party sources said that Ramanuj Yadav was expecting to get ticket as it was he who vacated the seat of Sonepur for Rabri Devi in 2010. It is other thing that she lost.
