Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday sharply reacted to the Governor, Devanand Konwar’s statement that the state government had been trying to stifle autonomy in higher education.

Talking to newsmen on Monday he said a person holding constitutional post must not speak through the media. He said he is aware of constitutional provisions.
Konwar said in a function in Madhepura on Sunday that the state government’s duty was to give grants to universities, not to control it. He said universities are not getting funds, which stifle autonomy of higher education and affect it. He also said that no Bill was pending his approval.
