Patna,(BiharTimes): Though the Patna Police late on Friday night claimed to have detained a teenager on the suspicion of being a “blademan” another girl fell victim to a similar attack in Patna City on Sunday.
On Sunday a ten-year old girl was badly injured when a blademan slashed her right hand in Khajekalan area of Patna City. She said that she saw a man in black-shirt who attacked her. |
Incidentally, on Friday evening the police detained a youth from this very Khajekalan area. The police reportedly recovered two blades and a photo of girl from him. But he has not been formally arrested.
But if this youth is really the one who has been wreaking havoc in the last one week than who is the one who struck on Sunday. “Is more than one person involved in hurting the girl?”
So far eight girls––between the age of five and 18––have become victims of the attack by blademan, whose identity, and even objective, could not yet be known. In almost all the cases the girls were attacked on their right hand. On Sunday a report came that even a three year old boy was attacked with a blade in Patna City.
Incidentally, on Thursday the police took into custody a 24 year old ragpicker, Mohammad Shafique, and lodged him in a lockup. In fact it caused a law and order problem as the mob wanted to attack and lynch the ragpicker, who repeatedly pleaded that he is innocent.
If the blademan continues to strike after the detention of a ragpicker on Thursday and a youth on Friday who is the real culprit? The SSP, Amrit Raj, and other officers are tightlipped over the issue.
The ragpicker was in fact rescued by the police as a large number of people beat him black and blue mere on grounds of suspicion.
