Patna,(BiharTimes): Nine state government departments have not spent a single penny in the first four months of the financial year 2012-13. In the last financial year seven departments could spend nothing in the first four months.
In all, the state government departments have spent only 16.43 per cent of the amount in the first four months.

Six departments have spent only two per cent of the planned budgetary allocation, which is Rs 28,000 crore. Thus only Rs 4,500 crore has so far been spent.
The situation was more or less same last year.
The departments which could spend nothing are Industry Department, Sugar Industry department, SC-ST Welfare department, Backward and Extreme Backward Castes Welfare department, General Administration Department, Information Technology department, Excise and Registration department, Cooperative and Commercial Taxes department.
But there are four departments which have spent much more than it was due. They are Food and Consumer Protection, which has spent 72.16 per cent, Tourism department 45.82 per cent, Rural Development department 42.65 per cent and Agriculture department 43.65 per cent.
Though the Backward and Extreme Backward Castes Welfare department has spent 90 per cent of the budgetary allocation in the first four months of 2011-12 this year it has so far spent nothing.
