Patna,(BiharTimes): Following the Planning Commission’s nod to sanction an ambitious Rs 1,100 crore ring-road project for Patna the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited tender from companies for preparing detailed project report (DPR) for the scheme.

The plan is to link three NH-98, NH-19 and NH-30 from the ring roads of the capital. The project is aimed at easing traffic pressure on Bailey Road and Danapur-Gandhi Maidan Road.
According to the sources the state Road Construction Department officials had discussed the issue with the NHAI Secretary A K Upadhayay during latter’s recent visit to Patna. Upadhyay had also inspected the proposed site with the RCD officials.
After Upadhayay’s visit, a proposal was sent to the Planning Commission, seeking its opinion on financial feasibility of the project.
The road construction department (RCD) is also working on an ambitious plan to provide a smooth passage from Nepal to Jharkhand through a four-lane road while the rural works department (RWD) is working on plans to provide road linkage to all the habitats with a population of 250 by 2017.
