Presiding over a meeting with top police officials and superintendents of police via half an hour long video conferencing, he said the law and situation had improved and crime contained in the state due to efforts of the police.

He appeared somewhat upset over the rise in crime against women and children. Thus he asked the police officials to pay attention to crime against them. He also called upon them to check crimes in trains and incidents of communal violence.

He said the SPs should take initiative to control protest and agitations by the people and try to reach the spot to control such situation.

The chief minister said the state government had taken measures like building infrastructure for scientific investigation and proposed modernization of the forensic science laboratory to crack incidents of crime and book culprits.

It was only last week that a member of the National Commission for Women said that there is a jungle raj in Bihar. She was here to look into the incidents of gang rape of a teenager in Patna and harassment of girls in Rohtas district and other crimes against women.
