No train reaching Patna Jn as route relay interlocking work gathers pace

Patna,(BiharTimes): Rail traffic has been thrown out of gear at Patna railway station due to the ongoing route relay interlocking (RRI) work going on since Feb 7. As the work will continue till Feb 12 no train is arriving at Patna Junction railway station.
The RRI system is likely to prove a boon for the division, particularly Patna Junction, in streamlining traffic movements.

Trains departing for Delhi, Mumbai and other places from Patna and Rajendranagar railway stations are now leaving from Danapur. They will terminate there too.

Similarly, trains originating from Patna and Danapur stations for Kolkata and other places in east and south, are now starting off from Rajendranagar station. They too will terminate there. Trains for Ranchi, Gaya etc are terminating at and starting from Parsa Bazar railway station. Other long distance trains are running on Grand Chord route via Gaya.

On Thursday the railways was forced to cancel the run of seven passenger and Express. The cancelled trains include Patna-Dehri-on-Sone, Rajendra Nagar-Banka, Rajendra Nagar-Islampur, Rajgir-Varanasi, Patna-Saharsa Kosi Express, Patna-Gaya passenger and Patna-Jhajha passenger trains.

According to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Danapur division, Arvind Rajak, the railways has made all possible arrangements for the convenience of passengers boarding trains either at Patna Junction or at Danapur station. The railways is taking care of passenger amenities, including proper announcements at each station about arrival and departure of each Mail and Express train, he said. A helpline number–– 06115-232398––has been working round-the-clock to cater to the needs of passengers.
