Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar’s deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi reiterated that the three-day Global Meet to be inaugurated on Friday (Feb 17) is not an investors’ meet as is being generally misunderstood.
Though over 1000 dignitaries from India and abroad, including industrialists, would be attending the meet not a single paise of investment would come up for discussion nor any Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would be signed. |
Global meets are generally held for alluring investments. Opposition parties are now questioning if there will be no investment then what is the need for such jamboree in which crores would be spent.
Since not a single paise of investments had come after the Global Meet of the past the state government is making its stand clear even before the start of this latest one.
Leader of opposition in the state Assembly Abdul Bari Siddiqui asked if it is not an investors’ meet then why is the state government machinery so much involved in the wastage of money.
CPI ML general secretary, Dipankar Bhattacharya, said that the Global Meet is being organized for the sake of sheer propaganda.
