Patna,(BiharTimes): An FIR was lodged against the husband of a minister in the Nitish cabinet for allegedly assaulting some Mahadalit women at Piprakaaroti panchayat in Madhepura district on Friday.

Reports from Madhepura said that the flood-hit women had gone to meet him at a guest house in Udakishunganj block seeking rehabilitation, when they were beaten up by Singh and the minister’s bodyguards. Protesting against the incident, the women staged an agitation demanding the arrest of Singh and other accused.
Former MP Ranjit Ranjan and Bihar Youth Congress president Lalan Kumar, in a joint Press statement, condemned the incident and sought the immediate arrest of Singh.
