Patna,(BiharTimes): The slapping episode involving a lady, Sujata, and the City SP, Kim, has pushed the real issue which led to the Monday night incident back. That is the electrocution of two poor teenagers near Tiwary Beecher showroom in Kankarbagh. |
Though the opposition leader Ram Kripal Yadav called on their family members and the opposition even raised the issue in the Assembly and Council on Wednesday till now no announcement has come from any quarters about the payment of compensation and fulfilment of other demands of the people. The chief minister sought forgiveness on behalf of the City SP Kim and ordered an inquiry which the divisional commissioner of Patna is to undertake. But the TV clipping of the SP slapping the middle-aged woman and in return getting a slap all over her face has become a hit. There is no apology for the tragic death of two youths.
The victims of electrocution were Pancham (17) and Rohit (16), both friends, who used to work in different shops in the area. While they were passing through water accumulated on the dug up road leading to Kankerbagh stadium, they came in contact with a snapped underground livewire. They died on the spot.
But since then the scene had shifted to Sujata’s house. According to her two teenagers were electrocuted near her home around 8.30 pm on Monday. Angry residents blocked road and pelted stones at the police when they arrived at the spot. She said she was peeping through the main gate of her house with three sons to see what was happening. She said that they were scared because her husband, R. Dipti, a businessman, was not at home and had gone to Samastipur.
She said that after a few minutes reinforcement came and tried to disperse the mob. Some policemen forcibly entered her house around 10pm and started beating up her sons: Manish (22), Abhinesh (16) and Subh (13).
Sujata said that she requested the policemen to leave her sons. But they were in no mood to relent.
The policemen started beating her sons mercilessly. Upon this Kim entered the house around 10.45pm. Sujata requested Kim to free her sons. But Kim allegedly abused Sujata and slapped her repeatedly. After some time, eyewitnesses said, Sujata retaliated and slapped Kim.
The police continued to thrash her three sons for 20 more minutes before they left.
