BSTDC to hold road shows in 10 cities of India

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation, will organise a series of road shows in 10 cities of the country. The first such show kicked off in Hyderabad on Friday.

The event featured a folk dance recital by a cultural troupe from Bihar at The Marriott, Tank Bund.
Apart from Hyderabad, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Guwahati, Mumbai, Jaipur and Ahmedabad are among the cities where these promotion events will be held.

It is claimed that Bihar managed to attract more than 5.27 lakh foreign tourists till November 2011. Since Bodh Gaya, Nalanda, Rajgir and Vaishali, all Buddhist religious sites, are in Bihar it is quite natural that the state attracts overwhelming number of international tourists, who double as pilgrims too. Besides, half a million Hindu pilgrims from all over the world make it to Gaya during a fortnight long Pitripaksha Mela before Durga Puja.
Mr Navin Kumar, Deputy General Manager, Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Ltd, said in Hyderabad, that efforts made by the BSTDC have 1,32,33,304 tourists visited the State in the first 11 months of 2011. This includes 1,27,05,531 domestic and 5,27,773 foreign tourists.
