Patna,(BiharTimes): A shocking incident took place in Patna on Saturday evening when Dr Palash Sen of Euphoria Band was performing an musical programme for the flood relief people of North Bihar. |
The Station House Officer of Gardanibagh police station, Nityanand Shukla, jumped on the dais, misbehaved with those who were performing and reportedly manhandled the media manager of the Band. Not content with this he ordered lathicharge on the audience. Those present on the occasion alleged that Shukla was drunk and used choicest abuses against the organizers.
The ugly scene forced the Band to abruptly stop the programme.
Before leaving Patna on Sunday Dr Palash Sen regretted the incident and urged chief minister Nitish Kumar to be present in any such programme organized in the future so that no policeman can indulge in such an act.
What is strange is that no action has been taken against the SHO even 24 hours after the incident. What is even more appaling is the reply of the SSP, Patna, Alok Kumar, that he is not aware of any such incidence.
