Jungle Raj remnants more active in Susashan?

Patna,(BiharTimes): A college Professor who bought land in Patna during the Jungle Raj days did not face any problem whatsoever from any quarter. But eight years later during the Susashan (good governance) era he is being harassed by none else but the henchmen of jailed former RJD MP, Mohammad Shahabuddin.
This piece of news sound somewhat unbelievable nevertheless true.

But this is not an isolated case of land-grabbers of different political and non-political hue and colour wreaking havoc in Patna in the recent years. Only last week a woman councillor, Prabha Devi, escaped unhurt in one such shoot out. Be it an IIT Kharagpur faculty member, Prof Sujoy Kumar Guha, former Magadh Mahila College Principal, Mala Ghosh, daughter of former district magistrate of Patna, Baidya Nath Basu Delhi-based Sunetra, or retired engineer Mathura Singh, all have the same story of terror to narrate. This is not to ignore the killing of Prof Papiya Ghosh of Patna University and the grabbing of the ancestral house of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar by kins of deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi.
But the story of 52-year-old Sharad Chandra Sinha, a teacher of Psychology at A N College, is much more complicated and somewhat different. If his widely published version in the media is true how is it that this is happening? Has the state government machinery gone soft towards the former RJD MP, who has contacts in ruling Janata Dal (United) too?
According to the Professor he bought a plot of two cottah of land in the Anisabad in Patna 2003 at a cost of Rs three lakh. That was the time when Shahabuddin was literally calling shots in Siwan. Yet everything moved smoothly.
The Professor got constructed the boundary wall and a small house in 2004. The same year, the circle officer (CO) executed the mutation of his land.
Seven years later on November 8, 2011 he faced something unbelievable. “I was at my land overseeing some construction work when around 20 people came down and threatened me at gunpoint to stop the work. On November 10, the same men, accompanied by probationary sub-inspector B K Choudhary, asked me to come to the Gardanibagh police station with all the land papers,” he was quoted in The Telegraph as saying.
He obeyed the police order and showed his property papers to a sub-inspector at Gardanibagh police station. “The goons claimed the land belonged to Hina Shahab, wife of incarcerated don Mohammad Shahabuddin, and the boundary wall was erected by them. The goons, too, showed land ownership papers, based on which the construction on my land was stopped. I met director-general of police (DGP) Abhayanand with my grievance on November 19. The DGP immediately contacted the station house officer at Gardanibagh and directed him to look into the matter. The same day, the sub-divisional officer imposed Sections 144 and 107 on my land, restricting me from going there and carrying out any construction work,” he said.
Till this day, Sharad is making rounds of police stations to regain control of his plot but with no success.
“The cost of my land now will easily touch a crore. I do not know what to do. I am running to the police station and to the sub-divisional officer in the hope of getting some solution,” he was quoted as saying.
The unanswered question is why these goons of Shahabuddin have come to harass him after eight long years. This is the bottom line of the story. Perhaps the atmosphere for land-grabbing has become more congenial now.

Thanks For Publishing this articile.... This has truely exposed Nitish Kumar of his Tall claims of Sushaan....

He is one shrewd politician who manages the media well.I totally agree with Ms Jaya Ghosh comments clear that all the land grabbers have been blessed by persons seating on high seats of power who are protecting them from being tracked down.

Though Mr. Nitish Kumar should now realize he cant befool the people of Bihar any more.

He would met the same grave as his predecessor if he fails to administer the administration machinery.

Iam sure this is not the isolated case there would be thousands like this which have faled to surface.

I would request Mr. Editor to highlight these cases more into Electronic media so that entire nation is aware abut the misdeeds of the Bihar Govt.

Thank you very much for publishing this item. It is a matter of shame that the state government has so far failed to provide help to the Professor who was getting his house contracted on a piece of land he had purchased. It is hard to believe the daring acts of bullying and violence On the part of the criminal elements who are making easy money by whee Ing and dealing in land by rather nefarious means.

Why is it so HARD to bring these land grabbers under the control of the law enforcement agencies? I cannot speak for the persons that you have mentioned in your piece.

I can only mention our family' s experience : the populist CM and his team have failed to even acknowledge multiple appeals for action.
Apparently this matter does not deserve his attention or even delegation of the task to his underlings.

The accused persons for the murders of my sister, Profesor Papiya Ghosh and the household help, Malti Devi, have managed to elude arrest over the last five years -ostensibly because they cannot be tracked down by our competent police forces. Repeated attempts to RTI have proved absolutely futile. RTI is a nothing but a hollow slogan in Bihar.

It is clear that all the land grabbers have been blessed by persons sitting on high seats of power who are protecting them from being tracked down. I wish people in power would care for the safety and security of ordinary law-abiding citizens.

It is not enough just to resurrect the golden symbols of the yesteryears but to actually do things for the people of the state. I
do not have to remind the powerful ones that actions speak louder than words.

Hats off to bihartimes for publishing some ground reality of so called sushasa. If this is happening in Patna and that too respected professor, imagines what might be happening to rural area. Reminded me of the recent movie ‘ Khosla khosla’ in real life. Request all media people to come forward and put pressure on government by highlighting the story.
