Nitish finds difference between RSS and BJP, says alliance is with latter

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has opened his mouth once again on the same old issue.

Speaking on the sidelines of Janata Darbar on Monday he said his party, the Janata Dal (United), is in alliance with the BJP and not the RSS, its parent organization.

Nitish apparently reacted over the reference made by a journalist regarding involvement of Ahmedabad-based institution in preparing town planning for Patna.

“Have you any problem with Gujarat. Gujarat se kiya koi chid hai kiya,” was how he reacted. A state can take help of any institution in another state.

He talked about the glorious past of Gujarat, its role in Hindu mythology. He praised Gujarat, but refused to give any credit to the present chief minister Narendra Modi. It was much developed state in the past, he added. Thus, in a way, he went on to give credit to the former chief ministers––most of them of Congress––of the state.

He said it was the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel and has produced many great personalities.

He rejected the scathing attack made by the RSS through its mouthpiece, Organiser, recently. (The BiharTimes had already reported it.)

Referring to his view on the secular prime ministerial candidate he said he stand by what he had said in an interview (to the Economic Times on June 19 last). He said he did not take name of any individual.

Nitish said his party had formed an alliance with the BJP in 1996 on the agenda against scrapping of Article 370 of the Constitution and Uniform Civil Code, besides judicial or negotiated settlement of Babri Masjid dispute.
The Bihar chief minister said JD(U) would not compromise with dilution in any of these core issues.

Political observers are of the view that it is true that Janata Dal (United) has an alliance with the BJP and not RSS simply because one can not have any truck with the latter. This is simply because RSS is a non-political organization. But no one can deny that its political outfit is BJP. By saying so Nitish can not wholly dissociate himself.
