Patna,(BiharTimes): Dozens of LPG cylinders exploded on Tuesday at a primary school in Khopira village in Bhojpur district while lunch was being prepared on the eve of the tervi of former Ranveer Sena chief, Brahmeshwar Singh alias Mukhiya. He was killed on June 1.
Reports from Ara said that 100 cylinders had been kept at the site. However, there was no report of casualty. |
Leakage in gas pipe is being attributed to these explosions. The pandal was totally gutted in fire. Cylinders flew about 300-400 metres away causing pandemonium all over. People fled towards the farmland.
The westerly wind aggravated the situation causing panic all over. Arrangement was being made for 50,000 people. The fire caused widespread destruction.
However, instead of fire-tenders it was the local people, who with the boring pipes brought down the fire.
The shradh ceremony started on Wednesday.
Incidentally, one of the fire tenders broke down while on way from Ara to the village of Mukhiyaji. It blocked the road.
It remains a mystery as to how such a large number of cylinders were kept and that too in a school. Keeping cylinders in such a way is illegal.
