Man with revolver arrested at Lalu’s meeting in Jehanabad

Patna,(BiharTimes): A 45-year-old former armyman was on Saturday caught from the public meeting of RJD chief Lalu Yadav in Jehanabad when he was found carrying a pistol under his belt. The man was later identified as Sanjay Singh, a sarpanch of Ainwan gram panchayat under Kako police station in the district. He was brought to the Town police station for interrogation. Sanjay, however, claimed that he had a licence for the firearms he was carrying.

Meanwhile, Lalu, while addressing a big public meeting in the town, said there is absolutely no law and order in Bihar and the much-trumpeted political plank of development with justice of the Nitish government in the state is also a sham meant to hoodwink the people.

Lalu, who is undertaking Motihari to Gaya Yatra, said his Yatra is, in fact, a harbinger of a great political change in the days to come. He said that the education system in the state had completely crumbled and the government is running on sheer announcements and false promises.

He reiterated his demand of establishing two separate full-fledged campuses of Central University of Bihar at Gaya and Motihari. Besides, he sought immediate conversion of Patna University into central university. He accused the Nitish government of deliberately delaying the opening of AMU unit at Kishanganj under BJP pressure.
