Patna,(BiharTimes): Rashtriya Janata Dal chief, Lalu Yadav, on Thursday talked to the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and External Affairs Minister S M Krishnan over phone on Thursday and asked them to intervene in the matter related to the of arrest of Indian engineer, Fasih Mehmood.

Mehmood, a native of Darbhanga, was working in Saudi Arabia and it is many days after his disappearance that the Saudi authorities confirmed that he was arrested.
Lalu talked to the two Union ministers after Nikhit Parween, wife of Fasih, called on him. Later she said that a new hope has arisen after she met Lalu Yadav.
The meeting with Lalu Yadav was arranged by Nagrik Pahal. Noted social activists, Naiyer Fatmi, Krishna Murai and Kanchan Bala and Jitendra of PUCL were present on the occasion.
A day earlier on Wednesday the father of Kafeel Akhtar and Fasih’s mother Amra Jamal also met Lalu Yadav.
Fasih’s wife had also filed a petition in the Supreme Court appealing that her husband be produced in the court. The third hearing would take place on July 2.
