Patna,(BiharTimes): In yet another instance ruling Bharatiya Janata Party MLA on Monday cornered the minister belonging to the same party in the state Assembly.
The party MLA, Sanjay Sarogi, challenged the reply of health minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey on defunct machines at Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). |
However, when the minister claimed that the mechanical ventilator at the Medical College was among the equipment functional there, Sarogi produced a letter of a head of the department (HoD) of DMCH, declaring that it was defunct.
At this point the Speaker Uday Narain Choudhary intervened to bail out the embarrassed minister. He told Choubey to get the matter probed immediately as either the letter of the HoD is false or the reply given to the minister by his officials is wrong.
A visibly upset minister said he would get the matter investigated immediately. Sarogi had alleged large-scale irregularities in purchase of medical equipment at DMCH. In the past Vikram Kuer and Avinish Singh, both of the BJP, have embarrassed the government in the state Assembly.
