Patna,(BiharTimes): Name of two Rashtriya Janata Dal leaders figure prominently for the lone Legislative Council seat the party can win in Bihar. In all election is due for 11 seats. |
It needs to be recalled that the RJD chief Lalu Yadav had persuaded the then Sonepur MLA Ramanuj Prasad Yadav not to contest his Assembly seat in 2010 and leave it for former chief minister, Rabri Devi, on the promise to accommodate him in the Council. Incidentally Rabri lost from both Sonepur as well as Raghopur.
But at that point of time Lalu never thought that the party would meet such a fate. Now with just 22 MLAs it is in position to win just one seat.
The RJD also has the state unit president, Ramchandra Purbe, who too lost the Assembly polls in 2010. Party sources said Lalu might like Purbe to enter the Council on that lone seat his party was likely to bag.
