Patna,(BiharTimes): Children continue to die at the hands of kidnappers in Bihar. This time it happened in Patna’s posh colony.
The body of 10-year-old Rishi, a Class-IV student of Mount Bethany Public School here, was recovered from Pothi under the Masaurhi subdivision of Patna district on Wednesday. |
Rishi of Indiranagar (Kankerbagh Colony) was kidnapped on Monday while returning home from school.
An FIR was lodged in this connection on the same day.
Surprisingly, it was the neighbour, Bittu, who masterminded the kidnapping. He was arrested on Wednesday but only after the boy was killed.
According to DSP Sadar Rashid Zaman the kidnappers had demanded Rs 10 lakh as ransom for his release on the night he was kidnapped even though they had killed the boy by that time.
Rishi’s father Vimal Kumar said the kidnappers first killed his son and then made calls for ransom amount.
When the news of Rishi’s murder reached Patna agitated people raided the house of Bittu and held his mother captive. They charged that she had prior information about the boy’s kidnapping. When the Kankarbagh Police reached the spot, a scuffle broke out between the locals and the policemen who tried to free Bittu's mother from their captivity. The Kankerbagh police had to retreat from the spot.
The situation was brought under control after additional police forces were called in from the Patrakarnagar police station and other police stations.
The people also blocked the NH-30 near Jaganpura and demanded institution of an FIR against Bittu’s mother and her subsequent arrest.
comments...
Well, I remember old days when each and every kidnap was referred to jungle raj effect. Last 6 months number of reports has been published, at least on Bihar times where kidnapped kid was murdered.
Not even a single national media seems to be worried.
