Deadlock persists as talks with contractual teachers end without any result
Patna,(BiharTimes): Uncertainty prevails as talks between Bihar government and contractual school teachers failed on Friday evening.
The talks followed a massive demonstration by the teachers which started from the Gandhi Maidan––the venue of Nov 4 Adhikar Rally––in the afternoon and ended near Secretariat.
The para-teachers have been demanding pay parity with regular teachers. They alleged that the state government changed the rules and regulation on their appointment and deployed them in the election duty by informing the Election Commission that they are permanent government employee.
According to Krishna Murari, a representative of contractual teachers association, talks between Education Minister Prashant Kumar Shahi and office bearers of contractual teachers ended without any result.
But Shahi, who last week said that the teachers are not unjustified in their demands, said on Friday that solution to such issue cannot be found in one day. “Today’s talks are positive and it will continue in future too, he told a section of media.
The para-teachers have threatened that they would not budge from their position and would even raise their voice on Adhikar Rally day.
