Patna,(BiharTimes): The Janata Dal (United) MLA from Rupauli in Purnea district, Bima Bharti, on Thursday accused her estranged husband, Awadhesh Mandal, of plotting to poison their 13-year old son, Raja Kumar.
It needs to be reminded that Bima Bharti’s divorce petition is pending in the court.
According to Bima her estranged husband is creating obstacles in her way to bolster support for the Adhikar Rally.
Talking to media in a private hospital in Purnea where her son is undergoing treatment after a suspected case of poisoning, she alleged that her son was poisoned by none other than her own husband.
Raja Kumar took ill soon after he returned from a fair at
Bhitta village in Purnea district on Wednesday evening. Later, Bima rushed her son to a private hospital in Rupauli where the doctor said it was a suspected case of poisoning.
The police have registered a case against Mandal. The boy is said to be out of danger.
Mandal, however, denied the charges. He said he was currently busy in RJD chief’s Parivartan Yatra at Katihar on November 7 and Purnea on November 8.
Bima herself was till a few years back in RJD and was its MLA.
Her story is somewhat different from Ranvir Yadav-Punam Devi and Munna Shukla-Annu Shukla couples. In both these cases the wives are JD(U) MLAs, while their controversial husbands party leaders. On the other hand, Awadesh Mandal, a don of the Kosi belt, continues to be in the RJD.
