Though the atmosphere was sombre at the Kautaliya Nagar residence of late Kailashpati Mishra yet it did not prevent BJP workers from raising a highly political slogan after his arrival: Desh ka Pradhan Mantri kaisa ho, Narendra Modi jaisa ho rent the air.

Incidentally, the slogan in favour of Modi was raised just after Bihar chief minister’s muscle-flexing exercise in Gandhi Maidan in which he made it amply clear that anyone who wants his party’s support after 2014 election should first fulfil the demand of the special status for Bihar.

Modi, who stayed at Kailashpati Mishra’s residence for about 20 minutes, did not said anything political on the occasion though he talked to the media. He kept himself confined to the contributions of Kailashpati Mishra. Modi told reporters that Mishra as Governor of Gujarat had worked as a bridge between the Centre and the State.

Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, BJP Deputy Leader in Rajya Sabha Ravishankar Prasad, Bihar BJP president Dr C P Thakur, state BJP ministers, Nand Kishore Yadav and Ashwani Kumar Choubey were also present on the occasion.

In contrast Lal Krishna Advani, who also paid tributes to Mishra, did not miss the opportunity to hail Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar too. He said the state government is doing better work for the development of the state in comparison to the last government.
He also praised Mishra’s contribution for the cause of the party and called him a role model for the rank and file of the BJP.
However, it needs to be noted that Advani reached the residence after Narendra Modi left it.
