Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will attend the Eastern Zonal Council (EZC) meeting scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar on November 24. Incidentally, Nitish Kumar would be completing seven years in office on that very day.
Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, chief ministers of Odisha, West Bengal and Jharkhand Naveen Patnaik, Mamata Banerjee and Arjun Munda respectively will also attend the meeting.

The Jharkhand Chief Minister has already confirmed his participation while others are yet to take a decision on attending the EZC meeting.
Besides CMs, the Chief Secretaries of the four eastern states and senior secretaries and police officers were scheduled to attend the meeting to be held at the Bhubaneswar secretariat.
Top officers of the Planning Commission and some officials of Central Ministries are also likely attend the meeting. The last EZC meeting was held at Ranchi in 2007. This time Odisha is hosting the EZC meeting.
While Shinde is the Chairman of EZC, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is its Vice Chairman.
Issue relating to introduction of the GST by replacing VAT, coastal security and information sharing on criminals and crime and extremist activities relating to the eastern states, will come up for review at the meeting.
