Patna, Oct 15 (IANS) Putting an end to speculation, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Monday said his Janata Dal-United (JD-U) and the BJP will contest the next Lok Sabha elections together.
|
"JD-U and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) will contest together from all 40 parliamentary seats in Bihar," Nitish Kumar told media persons here.
He ruled out any rift between the two parties, which are partners in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Early this month, state BJP president C.P. Thakur said his party was preparing to contest from all 40 seats in the state. His remarks drew a strong response from some senior JD-U leaders, who said their party too will contest all 40 seats alone.
