Nitish defends pulling up Bhim Singh for his remarks
Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar Chief Minister on Sunday defended pulling up Rural Works Minister Bhim Singh for saying that Nitish Kumar should be projected by BJP as prime ministerial candidate of the National Democratic Alliance as 64 per cent of the people of Bihar wanted to see him in the post.
Talking to reporters Nitish said that Bhim Singh’s statement might have been taken as his endeavour to make a case for himself as NDA’s prime ministerial candidate which is not the case.
Nitish said he had ruled himself out of the race and had consistently said the post should go to the largest constituent of an alliance at the Centre.
He said he had come to know of the statement from a newspaper on Saturday and promptly pulled up the minister and directed him to retract the statement, which he did immediately by calling a Press conference.
Regretting his remarks Bhim Singh said it was his personal opinion.
