Patna,(BiharTimes): A book published when the BJP-Shiv Sena combine was in power in Maharashtra in 1990s and Manohar Joshi was the chief minister and compiled by none other than Bal Thackeray’s father talks about the Bihar connection of the Thackerays. It is titled Prabodhankar Thackeray Samagra Wangmay.

Prabodhankar Thackeray was Bal Thackeray’s father and Raj and Uddhav’s grandfather. The book traces the origin of the Thackeray family in detail.
According to the Congress general secretary, Digvijay Singh, page number 45 of the book mentions that the Thackeray family first travelled from Magadh in Bihar to Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, then to Chittorgarh in Rajasthan, and then to Madhavgarh in Pune, Maharashtra.
Raj Thackeray had recently called Biharis as infiltrators, following which Digvijay Singh had revealed that Raj and Bal themselves belong to Bihar and that he should not speak against Biharis.
However, Shiv Sena leader, Manohar Joshi said that in his 45 years of political career Bal Thackeray had never referred to his Bihari connection.
