Patna,(BiharTimes):Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will campaign against Narendra Modi and his party, Janata Dal (United), won't fight elections in Gujarat with the BJP this year. Janata Dal (United) chief Sharad Yadav made the announcement on Monday, jolting his alliance with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance. |
"The NDA coalition is there in Gujarat but there are some districts where we will contest on our own," Yadav was quoted by ANI as saying.
Yadav confirmed that Kumar will campaign against Modi, who is seeking a third term as Gujarat's chief miniser and is seen as a prime ministerial candidate in the 2014 general elections. Kumar, who is in his second term as Bihar's chief minister, is seen as a prime ministerial candidate too.
"Our presence in Gujarat was there from the beginning, we will contest elections now too," said Yadav.
