Rs 5.86 lakh seized from residence of District Welfare Officer, Gaya
Patna,(BiharTimes): An amount of Rs 5.86 lakh was seized from the residence of District Welfare Officer (DEO) of Gaya, Gyan Krishna Puriar, at Bellari Tola in Gaya town.
Reports said that a team of officials raided Puriar’s residence and seized the cash following the instruction of District Magistrate Vandana Preyasi.
The DM had received complaint that Puriar had amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income and ordered a raid.
However, Puriar has denied involvement in corruption and said that the cash seized from his house rightly belonged to him and he could show proof for it.
