Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar cabint on Tuesday approved a proposal by private power producer, M/s Ericsson Power Ltd, for setting up a 1,320 MW (2X660) thermal power project at Prabhawati Nagar in Banka district.

Another private firm, Jas Infrastructure Power Ltd, which belongs to Abhijit Group, is also building a thermal power plant at Baunsi in the same district. But this firm is in the news recently on the issue of coal allocation. Its CMD is Manoj Jaiswal.
According to the Principal Secretary (Cabinet Coordination and Secretariat) Ravikant the Ericsson Power Ltd would set up the project at a cost of Rs 7,260 crore and complete it in 42 months. The thermal power project would provide employment for 145 skilled and unskilled workers.
He said the state cabinet also sanctioned proposals to create 422 posts each at the Armed Police Training Centre at Dumraon in Buxar district and District Police Force (Constable) at Simtullah in Jamui district.
Ravikant said the state government approved another proposal by the finance department under which government employees could avail loans to purchase vehicles from the Central Bank of India in addition to housing loan.
