Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday laid foundation stone of centrally-aided six-lane bridge on river Falgu between Gaya town and Manpur block in Gaya at district an estimated cost of Rs 64.51 crores.
Addressing the meeting on the occasion, Nitish directed the Bridge Construction Corporation to ensure completion of the bridge project before its schedule date March-April 2015.

Interestingly, the construction of the proposed bridge is to begin from November 2012.
Explaining the reason Nitish said that the state government had to work hard to obtain sanction from the Union Surface Transport ministry as it had raised several objections on the construction of bridge, but in the end he succeeded in convincing the Union Minister C P Joshi to grant clearance to the project.
The new bridge will be built near the existing old bridge. Besides, there already exists another bridge, over river Falgu which came up in 1990s and is a few kilometres from the old one.
