Patna,(BiharTimes): Senior Congress leader and former Bihar minister Kumud Ranjan Jha died of massive heart attack in New Delhi on Friday. He was 64 and was survived by wife and a son.

In fact Jha arrived at New Delhi early on Friday. He was rushed to AIIMS, but could not be saved. 

Jha was a three-time MLA from Pandaul Assembly seat in Madhubani district and a minister in various Congress governments in 1980s.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday condoled his death. He said Jha was a respected political leader and his death leaves a void in the society.

The chief minister announced a state funeral for the departed soul.
