Mumbai, Feb 4 (IANS) Kajol made her acting debut when she was still in school and after that academics took a back seat. The actress regrets not taking her studies seriously and says she realised its importance late in life.

"I never studied whole heartedly. And after completing my school education, when I started working, I realised the importance of education. I realised what I should have done. According to me, it was my mistake," said the actress who carved a niche for herself with hits like "Baazigar", "Dushman", and "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" after making a tepid start with "Bekhudi" in 1992.
She was speaking at the Coca-Cola NDTV's Support My School campaign and urged the students to take their education seriously.
"I would like to tell my kids and other children to not repeat the mistake which I made in my childhood. So go ahead and study as much as you can. Knowledge is the only thing that nobody can take away from you," said the 38-year-old, who is married to actor Ajay Devgn. They have two children - daughter Nysa and son Yug.
The second edition of Support My School telethon was organised Sunday by Coca-Cola India & South West Asia president and CEO Atul Singh, NDTV India CEO Vikram Chandra, campaign ambassador cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai.
