He would be accorded a grand public reception in his native village where he would interact with distant relatives and their families.
The chief minister paid a visit to Wajidpur village on Monday to inspect the preparation for the visit. He told the media that Purryag had inquired from the state government about various details of his ancestral village which were provided to the latter.
It needs to be recalled that former Mauritius prime minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam had visited his native village in Bhojpur district in 2008. Nitish also paid a visit to Mauritius in 2007.
In Jan 2012 Trinidad and Tobago premier Kamla Persad-Bissessar also visited her ancestral village, Bhelupur, in Buxar district. However, she was not welcomed by the chief minister Nitish Kumar and it remained a relatively low profile visit.
