Patna,(BiharTimes): Over 3,000 government doctors in Bihar on Sunday reiterated that they would go on a two-day strike from Jan 15 to press for various demands.
Incidentally, the doctors had threatened to go on strike six months back, yet the state government had till date not done anything to fulfil their demands. It just said that any such strike would be declared illegal.

Talking to the media the general secretary of Bihar Health Services Association (BHSA) Dr Ajay Kumar and the secretary-cum-spokesperson Dr Ranjit Kumar said they have no other option but to go on strike if the state government fails to consider their genuine demands.
The medicos also took out rallies in support of their demands like regularisation of contractual doctors and strengthening health directorate, besides creation of adequate medical infrastructure in Bihar.
On the other hand Health Minister Ashwani Choubey said the state government would deem the strike illegal. He appealed to them not to go on strike.
He, however, said the state government is ready with alternative arrangements if the doctors went ahead with the strike. The district magistrates and the district civil surgeons have been directed to take stringent actions against those disrupting medical services in the government hospitals and initiate action against such doctors.
