Patna,(BiharTimes): Former Bihar minister and senior Janata Dal (United) leader Ramashray Prasad Singh died on Saturday evening after a prolonged age related illness at a private hospital in New Delhi.
He is survived by wife, a son and a daughter.

 He was a member of Bihar Legislative Council and the deputy leader of the party in the upper house of the Assembly.
Condoling his death Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced state mourning on Sunday. Ramashray was Parliamentary Affairs minister in the Nitish government till 2010.
Nitish called the departed leader as a very friendly person and said he had a clean image in state politics spanning over five decades.
Speaker of the State Assembly Uday Narain Chaudhury and Bihar Janata Dal (United) president Vashist Narayan Singh also paid tributes to him.
Born in Newari village in old Gaya district (now Jehanabad) Ramashray started his politics in Congress and became an MLC for the first time in 1962 and MLA from Kurtha constituency in Jehanabad district in 1972.
Ever since then he served in all the Congress ministry till March 1990 when Lalu Yadav came to power. This showed his political clout on the state politics.
He left Congress about a decade back and joined Lok Janshakti Party and won the February 2005 Assembly election on its ticket. However, later in the same year he switched over to Janata Dal (United) and became MLA in another election held in November 2005. So after a gap of over 15 years be once again became minister in the state cabinet.
He was not only the tallest leader of Bhumihar caste of Magadh division but of the entire Bihar.
