Centre’s rural health scheme, Chattissa, a success in Bihar: Minister

Patna,(BiharTimes): The rural health scheme of the central government, Chattissa, is running successfully in 12 Panchayats of Bihar.
Under the scheme, run in coordination with the state government, patients living in rural areas are provided treatment for critical diseases to heart, kidney and cancer through telemedicine through video conferencing with leading doctors of newly-built AIIMS in Patna.

Replying to a Starred Question of BJP’s Sanjay Sarawgi in Legislative Assembly here on Friday health minister, Ashwinin Choubey, said after the success of the pilot project in 12 Panchayats, the scheme would be extended in other Panchayats in the state.

The 12 Panchayats where the project was launched two months back come under Patna, Gopalganj, Saran, Siwan, Samastipur, Darbhanga and Nalanda.

There are 8,500 Panchayats in Bihar.

The minister said educated youths with working knowledge of computer are engaged in the scheme.
