New Delhi, March 11 : The Supreme Court Monday issued notice to the central and state governments asking them about steps taken to bring about police reforms.

The notice has been sent to the union home secretary, chief secretaries, home secretaries and DGPs of all states and other authorities in the union territories.

The DGP of Bihar and the police commissioner of Patna were asked to explain the rationale for beating women teachers participating in protests seeking hike in their pay.
