Patna,(BiharTimes): The outgoing Governor of Bihar, Devanand Konwar, was sent-off on Wednesday and his successor D Y Patil was accorded a grand welcome on his arrival.
While just Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was present at the airport to see him off those who gathered to welcome Patil included several ministerial colleagues too. Chief Secretary Ashok Kumar Sinha and state police chief Abhyanand were among the handful of officials present to bid good bye to Konwar.
Konwar was made the Governor of Bihar in June 2009. He is expected to take oath as Tripura governor on March 25.
Patil, who was earlier governor of Tripura, was received by chief minister, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and a number of ministers and legislators at the airport in the evening.
Patil while talking to reporters, extended greetings to people of the state. He later garlanded the statue of Rajendra Prasad outside the Raj Bhavan
