Patna,(BiharTimes): Police on Tuesday arrested Sonu Alam, a car thief who ended up becoming the owner of two hotels in downtown area of Patna with his ill-gotten wealth.The alleged thief, who operated an inter-state gang of vehicle lifters, confessed that he owned two hotels––one in Exhibition Road and another in S P Verma Road.

Sonu, originally from Phulwarisharif in Patna, also confessed to have been involved in theft of 50-60 vehicle, including SUVs and luxury cars.He told police that he used to invest his money in his hotel business.If he is to be believed he is the owner of Mega Palace and New Mega Palace hotels.

Sonu is an expert in unlocking cars. According to Superintendent of Police (city) Shivdeep Lande he used to steal vehicles along with his accomplices and sell them off in Nepal and northeast.
