Patna,(BiharTimes): A few hours after the suspension of the Commissioner of Patna Municipal Corporation on Friday evening the state government appears to be on the backfoot.Soon after the suspension the IAS Officers’ Association met at its office near Patna airport.

Later on Friday night a delegation of Association met chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi to express the feeling over the suspension of the PMC Commissioner.What is strange is that Manjhi reportedly told the delegation that he would do whatever “you would like to do.”This sudden change in the stand of chief minister within a few hours has come as a big surprise. He appears to be caught in a bind.

While the builders’ lobby has an enormous clout on the state government, the Commissioner, Kuldeep Narayan, enjoys the backing of Patna High Court, which has stayed his removal from the post as vigilance case is pending against 447 illegal structures in the state capital.
