Patna,(BiharTimes): Former chief minister Nitish Kumar on Friday strongly criticized prime minister Narendra Modi for his silence on controversy involving religious conversion and praise of Nathuram Godse, the killer of Mahatma Gandhi, by his party leaders.Talking to tne media in the Legislative Council he directly blamed the BJP for stalemate in Parliament in the last five days. He said that PM’s silence over the “irresponsible and poisonous” utterances which are threatening the secular fabric of the country is intriguing.Had the prime minister spoken on the issue it would have enhanced his stature, he said.Nitish urged Narendra Modi that if he speaks on the issue it would help clear the air.He defended the Opposition parties’ role in defending the issue by stating that they are exercising their right in demanding statement from PM on issue to keep secularism protected in the country. He also said that seven months have passed of this government but it has nothing to show as achievements on promises it had made during poll to the people.He said that the six parties of the Janata Parivar would jointly hold a mega-sit in (Mahadharna) in Delhi on December 22 the country to expose the failure of the BJP-led government to bring back black money, to hike minimum support price, special status to Bihar and creating jobs for youths among others.
