Patna, Dec 27 (IANS) The intense cold wave continued unabated in Bihar with fog disrupting air and rail traffic Saturday, officials said.
"Icy winds with cloudy sky and dense fog have increased the problem, forcing the people to remain indoors. Air and rail traffic was also disrupted," met official R.K. Giri said.
Patna Saturday recorded a minimum temperature of 5 degree Celsius, the season's lowest, and maximum temperature of 14 degrees.
Gaya, which recorded a minimum temperature of 4.5 degrees Celsius, remained the coldest in the state.
Giri said the cold wave will continue for the next few days. "People are shivering and there will be no respite from it," he said.
Dense fog forced the rescheduling of many flights at Patna airport. Fog also disrupted railway traffic with most of the long distance trains, including the Rajdhani Express, running several hours late.
